Hey y’all!
I went to my first anime convention yesterday! It was just a small local one in Bakerfield, but nonetheless very fun 😀 I met lotsa cool people and actually saw a lot of old friends too. A few people I ran in to I hadn’t seen since my freshman year of high school. Some people don’t like meeting old friends from the past, but I love it! I went with my mom, dad, brother, and my best friend Andy, we spent most of our time just walking around looking at all of the merchandise, and people watching. It’s neat to see all of the costumes people make. I didn’t have any time to make any cosplay outfits, since I’d only known we were going the day of, so I just tried to dress as much with an anime feel as I could with the clothing I have. Surprisingly I got a lot of attention from people, a lot of people asking for photos! One guy asked if he could take my photo, and then got about 2 inches from my eye with his iphone and snapped a photo xD He then told me he wanted to use my makeup as inspiration for his new character design he is creating!
I was so happy to see so much Pokemon stuff! I LOVE Pokemon! I loved all the outfits too! I even saw a really beautiful Ash Ketchum there! OOO I wanted a photo with him so bad, but he left early. Dag nabbit. Ash Ketchum was my first crush as a child! HAHA. Well, after looking about everywhere, we went to this room where they held the cosplay competition, people went up in their outfits and performed skits, full dances, or just simply posing. It was really awesome and entertaining!
Well, I can say that this convention left a good impression on me, and I would definitely be interested in going to more of them. Bigger ones too! I’m not huge into anime, but I think it’s pretty fun.
I encourage you guys to all go to anime convention at least once, they’re really fun 😀 And if you know of any good ones coming up in California, let me know! Or come to Bak-Anime in November this year(it’s going to last 2 days) and say hi to me!
