Today’s outfit is all about layering and focusing on a primary color scheme. Pairing an outfit together using blue, yellow, and red always makes for a stunning look. It is a way to be vibrant and mix bold colors together while looking very put together at the same time. We all grew up learning about primary colors when we were children, so I find it to be a really nice color palette to reminisce. When choosing a base color for these primary color schemed outfits I lean towards neutrals. Neutral colors will always bring the right balance to any colorful charged outfit.
I love the retro look of pussy bow blouses! You can do so much with them. Playful, classy, and flirty, this top can be layered with virtually any clothing piece you can think of. The pussy bow blouse looks great with pleather leggings, underneath dresses and overalls, and skirts and much more. I chose to layer a denim bodycon cut out dress that Tobi was sweet enough to send to me. I love how they look together without any of the outwear. It makes for a very classy look when you wear a delicate puffy sleeved blouse underneath a dress. You might think of Annie Hall when you see an outfit like this. 🙂
My best friend, Blake, gifted me this wonderful navy, beige, and burgundy patterned coat last week. He is really tall, so it fit him a bit short. I think that it was meant to be that he gifted me this beautiful vintage coat though because it totally completes this outfit! I love how the navy blends in with the denim dress and the other colors in the coat compliment the rest of the outfit perfectly. For the final outer piece I chose this over sized chunky mustard knit cardigan courtesy of Tobi. It’s over sized enough that I can layer it over my other coat too!
Since the layering on the upper half of my body is so heavy I made sure to balance the rest of the outfit out with accessories and chunky clogs. On top I am wearing my favorite round hat. It’s woven with a small black bow on the side and I find myself wearing it all of the time. I don’t have much skin showing in this outfit, so I decided to layer a pair of plain black tights underneath my favorite pair of thigh high socks. I love these socks because of the ruffles and simple color scheme.
My shoes are chunky clogs that I received from Rocket Dog. I have loved this brand for a decade now and I was so excited when I received an email from their team that they wanted to work together! They have a lot of great shoes on their website for this summer. My favorite aspect of their brand is that their shoes are trendy, affordable, and they are SO COMFY!!! I can wear any of their shoes for hours without any complaints. I picked out these clogs because I figured that they would look great with a variety of different styles, and… they totally do!!!
I hope that you all enjoyed this outfit post 🙂 Have a happy Valentine’s Day loves.
xoxo,
Kendall
